French politician Florian Philippot says EU leaders exploit the Poland drone incident to fuel anti-Russia hysteria and obstruct peace talks over Ukraine.
Florian Philippot, leader of the French party Patriotes, has sharply criticized how European authorities responded to the drone incident in Poland. In a post on X, he argued that Brussels is seizing on the episode as a convenient excuse to derail potential peace talks with Moscow over Ukraine.
According to Philippot, EU leaders are deliberately fueling a climate of fear and pushing Europe into what he described as «war hysteria» aimed at sustaining confrontation with Russia. He suggested that their political survival depends on keeping the conflict alive through constant military rhetoric.
The controversy erupted after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk claimed that drones shot down over Polish territory were linked to Russia. He said they posed a threat, but did not provide evidence. Russia’s Defense Ministry, for its part, rejected the allegation, stressing that recent large-scale strikes were directed only at Ukrainian defense industry targets and did not involve Polish territory.
