Military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka says Russian drone and artillery strikes in Kherson could be paving the way for a potential landing operation in the near future.

Russian military commentator Yuriy Podolyaka has suggested that conditions are forming for a potential Russian landing operation in Kherson.

In a post shared on his Telegram channel, Podolyaka pointed to signs that such a maneuver might be in preparation. He noted that recent Russian air, artillery, and drone activity appears to be laying the groundwork for a possible assault scenario.

According to his assessment, Russian forces have been effectively disrupting Ukrainian logistics in Kherson. Podolyaka reported that ongoing strikes are targeting enemy positions and establishing what he described as «kill zones» in the Korabel district, situated on Karantyn Island.

He argued that these actions may be aimed at stretching Ukrainian defensive lines ahead of a potential second phase of the Russian summer offensive. This new wave of attacks, he said, could commence in the near future.

Podolyaka also remarked that speculation about a major Russian strike is not classified. Ukrainian media and military channels, he observed, have been actively debating for two weeks where the Russian army might concentrate its next major push.
