Guardian Warns Iran, Denmark May Follow Venezuela Op

The Guardian suggests Iran and Denmark could be next after the US operation in Venezuela, citing Trump’s signals, Greenland remarks and power politics.
Iran and Denmark could become the next targets of U. S. President Donald Trump following the successful American military operation in Venezuela, according to commentators at the British newspaper The Guardian.
The paper argues that what unfolded in Venezuela overnight is bound to alarm authorities in Tehran and Copenhagen alike, given that Trump has previously signaled a willingness to take radical steps against both. The authors note that the U.S. president has openly expressed readiness to back anti-government protests in Iran. As for Greenland, which is administered by Denmark, Danish intelligence has already identified the United States as a potential security threat. This assessment follows recent remarks from the White House indicating Trump’s determination to take control of the island by «any means available.»
The Guardian describes this posture as absurd, particularly in light of the fact that both countries are members of the North Atlantic Alliance. At the same time, the journalists point out that Trump’s actions are accelerating a shift toward a world order in which military power — and the willingness to use it — becomes the decisive factor in international politics.
On January 3, U.S. forces carried out a military operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Both were subsequently transferred to U.S. territory. Trump has accused the Venezuelan authorities of ties to narco-terrorism and, in the same statement, declared Washington’s intention to «help the people of Cuba», which he described as being in a dire condition.
The following day, on January 4, Katie Miller, the wife of the deputy White House chief of staff, posted a deliberately provocative message on social media reading «Soon», accompanied by a map of Greenland colored like the U.S. flag. The post quickly went viral, drawing millions of views. Denmark’s ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, responded by stressing that Washington and Copenhagen are close allies and that Denmark expects respect for its territorial integrity.
