Polish officials report three confirmed drone shootdowns and up to six possible, after 19 drones breached airspace on September 10.
Poland has released updated figures on the drones shot down during the night of September 10. Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk reported that Polish air defenses and aviation destroyed between three and six drones overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
According to Tomczyk, there is confirmed data on three drone shootdowns that posed a potential threat to Poland. A fourth kill is considered likely, while the fifth and sixth remain possible but unconfirmed.
He added that Polish military specialists are still analyzing radar data and searching for drone debris on the ground.
Earlier, the Lublin Voivodeship Prosecutor’s Office stated that most of the drones that violated Polish airspace on the night of September 10 fell on their own, which is why air defense forces in many cases did not open fire.
On Wednesday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that 19 drones had breached Polish airspace. He labeled them «Russian," but offered no supporting evidence.
