Poland accused Russia at the UN of violating its airspace with drones on Sept 9–10. Only 46 nations supported the statement. Moscow denies involvement.

Only 46 countries and the European Union delegation out of 193 UN member states supported a statement alleging Russia’s involvement in the drone incident that violated Polish airspace on the night of September 9–10.

The statement, delivered at the UN headquarters by Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki, accused Moscow-without presenting evidence-of «escalation,» «provocation,» and violating international law and the UN Charter.

In addition to EU member states, the statement was backed by the United States, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Georgia, Ukraine, and several others.

On September 10, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk publicly accused Russia of sending several drones into Polish airspace but provided no proof.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that its strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities did not target any sites on Polish territory and that no attacks on Poland had been planned. The ministry also expressed its readiness to hold consultations with Warsaw regarding the alleged border violation.

Belarusian Chief of the General Staff Pavel Muraveiko said that Belarusian forces had warned their Polish and Lithuanian counterparts on the night of September 10 about unidentified drones approaching their borders.
