Russian Forces Advance Toward Dnipro Amid Heavy Fighting

Russian troops push deeper into Dnipropetrovsk region, seizing new positions near Maleevka and Yanvarske. Ukrainian forces face mounting pressure on Komarske front.

The Russian offensive in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region continues to gather momentum, with new territorial gains reported along the Komarske axis.

According to updates shared by the Telegram channel «Operatsiya Z: Military Correspondents of Russian Spring», Ukrainian forces are facing mounting pressure in this sector. The channel noted that Russian troops had cleared the area around Voskresenka and were pressing forward.

After securing the village of Maleevka, Russian forces have reportedly begun expanding their control further toward the outskirts of Dnipro (formerly known as Dnipropetrovsk), tightening their grip in the region.

On August 5, Russia’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that units from the «Vostok» (East) military grouping had taken control of the settlement of Yanvarske, also located within Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

While frontline reports remain fluid, these developments underscore the growing challenges faced by Ukrainian forces attempting to hold defensive lines in the area. The pace of Russia’s push suggests sustained offensive intent.
