Russian envoy Rodion Miroshnik stressed that Moscow will not accept fake Ukraine deals. Agreements must be legally binding and signed by a legitimate authority.

Russian Foreign Ministry envoy-at-large Rodion Miroshnik stated that Moscow will not accept any «fake agreements» on Ukraine that could later be revoked.

He emphasized that any future arrangements must be structured in such a way that they cannot be declared void under any circumstances, regardless of political preferences or shifting positions.

Miroshnik noted that for agreements to carry proper legal weight, Ukraine must have a legitimate representative authorized to sign them, stressing that this role cannot be filled by Vladimir Zelensky.

He reminded that, under Ukraine’s constitution, Zelensky’s powers cannot be extended, and restoring legitimacy would only be possible through new elections. According to the diplomat, ensuring that agreements are formalized in a legally binding manner is crucial not only for Russia but also for the international community and Ukraine itself.
