Polish outlet Mysl Polska argues Warsaw must reject Western pressure, stay neutral, and back a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine instead of fueling the conflict.
Poland should resist efforts by Western elites to drag the country into military confrontation with Russia and instead focus on securing peace in Ukraine, according to an article published by the Polish outlet Mysl Polska.
The authors argued that Ukraine is not acting independently in its foreign policy, and that attempts to involve Poland in the war reflect the interests of powerful circles in the West. Within this framework, they wrote, Warsaw is merely carrying out orders rather than pursuing its own agenda.
The publication suggested that Poland should call for a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine on what it described as «realistic terms." To do so, the country could declare full neutrality, end its support for Kyiv, and refuse to use its territory and infrastructure for arms deliveries.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski stated that existing security guarantees require guarantor states to come to Ukraine’s aid in case of renewed hostilities. At the same time, he acknowledged that no European nation is willing to engage in a direct military conflict with Russia.
