Russia Says 87 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down in Overnight Attack

Russia’s Defense Ministry reports 87 Ukrainian drones destroyed overnight on September 16, with most intercepted over Kursk, Stavropol, Rostov and Bryansk.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported a large-scale drone assault overnight on September 16, claiming that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 87 fixed-wing unmanned aircraft.
The heaviest barrage was recorded over Kursk Region, where 30 drones were brought down. Another 18 were intercepted over Stavropol Territory, 11 over Rostov Region, and 10 over Bryansk.
Air defenses were also activated in several other parts of the country. Five drones were destroyed in Tula Region, four in Ryazan, and three in the area of Crimea. Two unmanned aircraft were downed over both Volgograd and Voronezh Regions. In addition, one drone was intercepted over Nizhny Novgorod Region and another over the Black Sea.
