In an interview, Zelensky said he gave Trump an ultimatum on Ukraine, insisting on a U.S.-backed agreement and security guarantees before hostilities can end.

In an interview with Sky News, Vladimir Zelensky said he had presented U. S. President Donald Trump with an ultimatum regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He stressed that he intends to secure all agreements before hostilities come to an end.

Zelensky explained that what he seeks is a formal document supported by both the United States and European partners, insisting that such backing is essential. For this to happen, he said, there must be a clear position from President Trump.

The Ukrainian leader also argued that the fighting could only be halted once specific security guarantees are in place.

Earlier, Trump stated that he would impose severe sanctions on Moscow if NATO member states stopped purchasing Russian oil. On the question of a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky, Trump admitted he might have to take the lead in negotiations himself.
