Russian paratroopers from the 247th and 108th regiments are advancing near Stepnogorsk in Zaporizhzhia, while Ukraine deploys GUR special units to hold positions.

Russian paratroopers have moved close to Stepnogorsk on the Zaporizhzhia front, according to the commander of a special unit known by the call sign «Viking.»

He explained that servicemen from the 247th and 108th air assault regiments were steadily advancing, fighting for every meter of ground. His unit, he said, was carrying out reconnaissance, quickly relaying intelligence, and striking enemy positions when required.

The commander emphasized that the assault groups were acting in a coordinated and confident manner, handling their tasks competently while keeping losses to a minimum.

At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian forces were attempting to hold their ground by deploying two units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR), one of which is composed of international fighters. These special detachments, he added, include soldiers with advanced training and combat experience in conflicts outside their own country.
