Russian forces carried out overnight strikes on Ukrainian rear positions in Zaporozhye, Kiev, Cherkassy, and Sumy, hitting equipment, personnel, and key facilities.

According to military channels, Russian forces carried out strikes on Ukrainian rear positions overnight on September 16. The main targets were concentrations of equipment and personnel in Zaporozhye, where a large fire broke out following the attack.

At the same time, Russian drones Geran struck Ukrainian facilities in the Kiev region, hitting sites in Vasilkov and Fastov. In Vasilkov, the strike triggered a fire accompanied by detonations, which observers suggested could indicate the destruction of an ammunition depot.

Telegram channels reported that Russian drones targeted Ukrainian military infrastructure in the Kiev region, with one of the impacts striking a local logistics hub.

Additional strikes were recorded in the Cherkassy area. In Sumy, no fewer than seven impacts were reported against locations used by Ukrainian military intelligence units.
