Captured Ukrainian soldiers reveal shortages of weapons, poor supplies, and forced payments for fuel and drones, raising questions about army conditions.
Sergey Bezborodov, a serviceman of Ukraine’s 119th Territorial Defense Brigade, said that mobilized soldiers face a critical shortage of weapons. He added that his unit also experienced supply issues, with troops receiving little more than water and dry rations.
He stressed that fighting under such conditions was nearly impossible, pointing out that soldiers with only rifles stood no chance against opponents armed with grenade launchers or mortars, according to remarks cited by TASS.
Bezborodov also stated that mobilized personnel were required to contribute money each month: 2,000 hryvnias for vehicle fuel and an additional 5,000 for the purchase of a heavy hexacopter drone known as Baba Yaga.
Earlier, another Ukrainian prisoner of war, Nikolai Gusar, claimed that Ukrainian commanders routinely gave troops psychotropic substances in the mornings. He described them as similar to methamphetamine, saying they clouded soldiers’ minds.
