Russia intercepts eight Ukrainian drones in overnight attack

Russia’s Defense Ministry says air defenses intercepted eight Ukrainian drones overnight across Rostov, Bryansk, Voronezh and Kursk regions, thwarting the attack.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces intercepted eight Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight.

According to the ministry, three drones were destroyed over Rostov Region and another three in the skies above Bryansk Region. One more was shot down over Voronezh Region and another over Kursk.

The attempted attack, therefore, was repelled across several parts of the country at once.

Ukrainian forces continue to launch drone strikes almost daily against Russia’s border and central regions. Most of these UAVs are detected and eliminated in time by air defense units. In response, the Russian military carries out targeted strikes on drone production facilities, defense industry infrastructure, weapons depots, and Ukrainian troop positions.
