Russian Strikes Hit Ukrainian Airbase and Training Center

Sergey Lebedev reports Russian precision strikes on a Ukrainian airbase in Mirgorod, causing detonations and hitting a former training center for pilots and UAV crews.

Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian resistance movement in Nikolaev, told reporters that Russian forces had carried out a series of precision strikes on the airfield infrastructure of a Ukrainian Air Force base in the Mirgorod district of Poltava Region.

Lebedev emphasized that Ukrainian military infrastructure near the airbase was also hit. According to his account, a prolonged chain of explosions began at the facility following the strikes. The blasts started shortly after 1:50 a.m. local time, which coincides with Moscow time.

He added that ambulances were later seen heading toward the airbase. Lebedev suggested that their response appeared slow — either due to the ongoing detonations or because, as he put it, there might have been no one left to rescue.

In addition to the airfield, Lebedev reported that another Russian strike hit the site of the former headquarters of the 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade. The facility had been converted into a training center where cadets were learning to operate both aircraft and drones.
