A Russian analyst says the US could reach sensitive military know-how if it gains access to Russian-made systems in Venezuela, including Pechora, Su-30 and radar gear.
The United States could gain access to Russia’s military secrets in Venezuela if it obtains access to Russian weapons that are in service with the South American country’s armed forces. This was stated to Tsargrad by Aleksandr Mikhailov, head of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis.
He noted that Venezuela has repeatedly showcased модернизированные Pechora air defense systems, Su-30 fighter jets, and radar systems produced by Almaz-Antey during military parades. At the same time, Mikhailov stressed that the most important military secrets are protected very securely.
He explained that export versions of Russian systems are supplied abroad for a reason. According to him, Russia does not sell its most sensitive military technologies. He pointed out that the S-400 system has been delivered to several countries, while the S-500 system is not being sold to anyone.
Mikhailov added that export versions typically have lower military-technical capabilities than the weapons used by the Russian armed forces.
He also said that some Russian weapons developments could still be exposed if «traitors in the Venezuelan elites» keep their influence and ensure the continued presence of US military advisers in the country.
