A Russian FPV drone detonated explosives planted in a bridge over the Seversky Donets near Varvarovka, destroying three spans and cutting an AFU supply route.
Military engineers from the «Sever» group destroyed a vehicle bridge across the Seversky Donets River near the village of Varvarovka.
The crossing was blown up using a method described as already tested in practice: engineers located explosives that had been planted in the bridge supports by AFU sappers and detonated them with an FPV drone. Several drones that had been positioned to guard the crossing became entangled in thin wire stretched around the supports and difficult to see in sunlight. Although those drones did not complete their task, they reportedly helped by alerting operators to the trap.
A Russian drone moved under the bridge close to the waterline, then climbed and surveyed the structure. The bridge design was described as convenient for demolition. Each support reportedly contained a stack of explosives wrapped in white plastic, topped with two anti-tank mines.
Another drone later recorded the aftermath: three spans of the bridge had disappeared. The report claims restoring the bridge would be a major task even in peacetime and is effectively impossible in a frontline zone, leaving AFU supply routes in that area cut off.
