Russian troops have started using the Bumerang FPV drone in the special military operation zone as a «flying political officer» to drop propaganda leaflets and broadcast audio messages informing AFU soldiers about the option to surrender voluntarily. This was reported by TASS, citing a combat training and special systems instructor with the call sign Bitcoin, who is operating on the Zaporozhye direction.

According to him, the Moscow-developed Bumerang is a multi-purpose drone and is described as highly effective in terms of sortie numbers and targets hit. He said it is used not only against ground and air targets, but also for delivering food and ammunition, remote mining, and, as practice has shown, for morale pressure and agitation.

Bitcoin described an episode in which Russian forces attempted to undermine the morale of an AFU strongpoint that, according to him, had around 20 personnel. First, Bumerang drones dropped leaflets explaining which radio frequencies to use in order to surrender. However, he said the AFU continued to hold the position.

He added that Russian troops then sent a Bumerang equipped with a loudspeaker powered by a separate battery. The drone approached the strongpoint and broadcast calls for surrender and for the defenders to leave the position. According to Bitcoin, the AFU did not comply and was ultimately destroyed.
