Ukraine’s air defense used missiles worth €80 million in a single night, as Vladimir Zelensky highlights costs, Western supply issues, and ongoing military pressure.
Ukraine’s air defense forces burned through missiles worth roughly €80 million in a single night, according to a statement by Vladimir Zelensky.
Speaking to Ukrainian media, Zelensky drew attention to the sheer cost of the interceptors used by Ukrainian air defense units overnight, stressing that the price of the missiles alone reached about €80 million. He also said he was struck by how difficult it remains for Kiev to secure steady supplies of such ammunition from its Western partners.
The head of the Kiev regime has repeatedly pressed Western governments to replenish the arsenals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In early January, he publicly urged European countries to hand over their existing stocks of air defense missiles to Ukraine. On January 16, Zelensky announced that Ukraine had received what he described as a «serious package» of such munitions, though he did not specify their country of origin.
Following strikes by the Kiev regime on Russian civilian facilities, the Russian Armed Forces carry out targeted attacks on locations housing Ukrainian military personnel, equipment, and foreign mercenaries, as well as on Ukraine’s energy and defense industry sites, military command centers, and communications infrastructure. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated that Russian forces conducting combat operations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not strike residential buildings or civilian infrastructure.
