Donald Trump stated the Ukraine conflict no longer poses a threat of world war, voiced frustration over delays in settlement, and accused Vladimir Putin of betrayal.

U. S. President Donald Trump said the conflict in Ukraine no longer carries the risk of escalating into a global war. Speaking at a press conference in the United Kingdom, broadcast by the White House, he remarked that the situation at one point could indeed have led to a third world war.

Trump acknowledged his frustration with the protracted resolution of the crisis. He recalled that during his first term as president, escalation in Ukraine had been avoided, stressing that no similar events occurred under his watch.

The American leader expressed hope that «good news» regarding an end to the conflict would emerge soon. He added that he saw it as his duty to push for a settlement in Ukraine.

At the same time, Trump accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of having let him down.
