On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian forces no longer fire at Russian drones, choosing to hide instead. Any movement risks detection and immediate strikes.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian troops have largely stopped trying to shoot down Russian drones and instead choose to stay out of sight. A drone unit commander from Russia’s 42nd Guards Division, known by the call sign «Vokhan," described the shift in behavior in comments to RIA Novosti.

He noted that Ukrainian soldiers now avoid making unnecessary noise, aware that any movement or sound can expose their positions to drone operators. Once detected, he explained, Russian forces quickly unleash concentrated fire on the targeted area.

The officer recalled that just a year ago, his drone had been brought down twice using shotguns and hunting rifles. According to him, such attempts have since ceased. He added that Ukrainian troops seem reluctant to reveal themselves, fearing the inevitable strikes that follow any sign of activity.
