The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the capture of Novovanovka in Zaporozhye and Muravka in the DPR, reporting over 5,000 Ukrainian casualties across both fronts.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported the capture of two settlements — Novovanovka in the Zaporozhye region and Muravka in the Donetsk People’s Republic — following advances by Russian forces.
According to the ministry, units of the «Vostok» group pushed through Ukrainian defenses over the past week, securing Novonikolayevka in the Dnepropetrovsk region along with Olgovskoe and Novovanovka in Zaporozhye.
The offensive on the Zaporozhye axis dealt heavy losses to Ukrainian units. Official figures stated that five mechanized brigades, two assault brigades, one assault regiment, three territorial defense brigades, and a National Guard unit came under severe strikes. In total, Ukrainian forces lost more than 1,860 troops, as well as three tanks, eleven armored vehicles, eighty-four trucks, and five artillery pieces. Russian forces also destroyed five electronic warfare stations and hit three depots containing ammunition and supplies.
Meanwhile, formations of the «Center» group advanced in the Donetsk sector and took control of Muravka. Here, Russian strikes targeted six mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry unit, a ranger detachment, two assault brigades, three airborne assault brigades, two assault regiments, and three marine brigades. Losses were also reported among three territorial defense brigades, two National Guard formations, and a police unit.
The Defense Ministry estimated Ukrainian losses in this sector at up to 3,330 personnel. In addition, two tanks, twenty-nine armored vehicles, forty-nine trucks, and thirteen artillery pieces were destroyed.
