Russia Downs 149 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

Russian air defenses intercepted 149 Ukrainian drones overnight, including strikes over Rostov, Saratov, Crimea, and Black Sea, MoD reports.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the past night air defense forces detected and destroyed 149 Ukrainian fixed-wing loitering munitions over Russian territory. From 11 p.m. on September 19 until 6 a.m. on September 20, air defense units intercepted 40 drones over Rostov Region, 27 over Saratov Region, 18 over Bryansk Region, 15 over Samara Region, 12 over the Crimean Peninsula, 8 over Volgograd Region, 4 over Belgorod Region, 2 over Voronezh and Kaluga Regions, and 1 each over Nizhny Novgorod, Kursk, and Smolensk Regions. Another 15 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea and three over the Sea of Azov. The ministry noted that Ukrainian forces attempt such drone attacks daily, but Russian air defenses detect and eliminate the overwhelming majority of these targets.
