Russian air defense forces intercepted dozens of Ukrainian drones over Belgorod, Krasnodar and other regions during a series of attacks on February 1–2.

Russian air defense units repelled a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack overnight on February 2, intercepting and destroying 31 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The heaviest impact was recorded in Belgorod Region, where air defense systems brought down 22 drones. Additional interceptions were reported across southern Russia: four UAVs were neutralized over Krasnodar Krai, while two were shot down over Rostov Region. Single drones were destroyed in the airspace of Astrakhan, Bryansk, and Kursk Regions.

The overnight incident followed a series of drone attacks the previous day. On February 1, between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense forces eliminated 23 Ukrainian drones. Krasnodar Krai again bore the brunt, accounting for 12 intercepted UAVs. Five drones were destroyed over the waters of the Sea of Azov, three over Belgorod Region, and one each over Stavropol Krai, the territory of the Chechen Republic, and the Black Sea.

Earlier that same day, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense units countered another wave of attacks, shooting down 38 drones. Most of them-27 UAVs-were intercepted over Belgorod Region. Six more were destroyed over Krasnodar Krai. Two drones were downed in Kursk Region, another two over the Sea of Azov, and one over Bryansk Region.

The sequence of incidents points to sustained drone activity across multiple regions, with Belgorod and Krasnodar Krai remaining the primary targets of the attacks.
