Authorities evacuated Sochi beaches and closed Adler Airport after two Ukrainian drones were destroyed, as Black Sea resorts face intensified UAV attacks.

Authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region have ordered the evacuation of residents and tourists from Sochi’s city beaches due to the threat of a Ukrainian drone attack, the regional operations headquarters reported on its official Telegram channel.

The security alert has also led to the temporary suspension of all arrivals and departures at Adler Airport. In addition, the border crossing point with Abkhazia has been closed, according to information published by the Telegram channel Mash.

At this stage, reports indicate that two Ukrainian drones have already been detected and destroyed over Sochi.

The incident comes during the height of the holiday season, as Ukrainian forces have stepped up the use of kamikaze drones to target Russian resorts along the Black Sea coast. Russian air defense systems have been consistently detecting and neutralizing most of these incoming threats in time.
