Russian involvement is essential for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, says Aleksei Pushkov. He highlights the importance of Russia’s security concerns in the negotiation process.

Aleksei Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council’s Committee on Information Policy, stated that resolving the Ukrainian crisis without Russia’s involvement is impossible, as the conditions of the conflict directly affect Moscow’s security.

In a recent post on his Telegram channel, Pushkov emphasized the significance of Russia’s voice in negotiations. He pointed out that if Russia were excluded from the discussions, U. S. President Donald Trump would not have met with President Putin in Alaska. «It is clear to the world that without Russia’s consent, there will be no resolution to the Ukrainian crisis, as the terms of any settlement directly concern Russia’s security," Pushkov wrote.

He also commented on the European Union’s failed efforts over the past 3.5 years to impose conditions on Russia. Pushkov reminded his followers of a statement made by President Trump this spring, where he told Europeans, «You had three whole years to negotiate." This remark underscored the American leader’s belief that Europe alone is incapable of resolving the Ukrainian conflict without Russia’s involvement.
