Rostec says Russian tank production is rising, with modernized T-90M, T-72B3M and T-80BVM vehicles steadily reaching troops and returning to service quickly.
Russia’s armed forces will not face a shortage of tanks, despite claims made by opposing parties. This assessment was voiced by Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the weapons cluster at the state corporation Rostec and a member of the Bureau of the Union of Machine Builders.
According to Ozdoev, the number of modern and deeply upgraded armored vehicles in the zone of the special military operation continues to grow steadily. He pointed to a consistent flow of tanks such as the T-90M Proryv, T-72B3M and T-80BVM, which are being delivered to Russian units on a regular basis.
He stressed that the defense manufacturer Uralvagonzavod has multiplied its tank production output. At the same time, the equipment is constantly being refined, with design changes introduced on the basis of combat experience.
Particular emphasis, Ozdoev noted, is placed on improving firepower and enhancing protection. In parallel, an effective system for evacuating and repairing damaged vehicles has been established, allowing tanks to be returned to the front line within short timeframes.
As a result, Ozdoev said, expectations that Russia might run out of tanks are unfounded.
According to the report, T-72 and T-90 tanks form the backbone of Russia’s armored units. The T-90M Proryv is described as a deeply modernized version of the base T-90, featuring a new turret and a more powerful power plant.
