Russian Army Advances Across Multiple Fronts, 1,500 Ukrainian Losses

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported advances in Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkov, Zaporozhye and Kherson. Over 1,500 Ukrainian troops lost in 24 hours, with strikes on 138 targets.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on September 21 that its forces continued advancing along several sectors of the front, capturing new positions and improving their tactical situation.

According to the briefing, Russian units took additional ground in Dnepropetrovsk Region and strengthened their positions in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Troops of the «North» grouping struck three mechanized and two heavy mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army, along with territorial defense units, on the Sumy axis. Fighting occurred in six populated areas. In Kharkov Region, Ukrainian forces lost more than 180 soldiers across four settlements.

The «West» grouping advanced successfully, defeating Ukrainian formations in nine localities in Kharkov Region and the DPR, where Ukrainian losses exceeded 220 troops. The «South» grouping gained more favorable positions and engaged enemy forces in five settlements of the DPR, inflicting up to 220 casualties.

The «Center» grouping also improved its frontline positions, striking Ukrainian personnel and equipment in six areas of the DPR and Dnepropetrovsk Region, with Ukrainian losses surpassing 500 troops. Meanwhile, the «East» grouping pushed deeper into Ukrainian defenses in five settlements of Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk Regions, eliminating around 340 Ukrainian soldiers.

The «Dnepr» grouping continued attacks in Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, where Ukrainian forces lost up to 45 troops. Altogether, the ministry estimated Ukrainian losses at approximately 1,500 soldiers over the past 24 hours.

The report also stated that Russian forces targeted sites used for launching long-range UAVs, as well as temporary bases of Ukrainian units and foreign mercenaries, across 138 locations. Russian air defenses reportedly shot down 65 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the same period.
