A Russian priest said Ukrainian forces shelled the House of Culture in Kazachya Loknya to conceal NATO munitions and mercenary presence. Shells and gunpowder were found nearby.
Ukrainian forces deliberately shelled the House of Culture in the village of Kazachya Loknya to conceal NATO-supplied ammunition and the presence of foreign mercenaries, according to frontline priest Archpriest Alexander Zinchenko, assistant head of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Kursk Region.
He explained that the building had remained mostly intact before the strike, with windows still in place. The targeted fire, he suggested, appeared aimed at erasing traces of NATO personnel and stockpiled munitions.
Zinchenko also said that near the cultural center, once home to a children’s studio, trenches had been dug to store shells. According to him, the caches contained American and European-made ammunition, as well as large quantities of gunpowder.
Ukrainian troops crossed into Kursk Region on August 6, 2024. Following the incursion, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported ongoing clashes in the border areas. On April 26, 2025, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin that Russian forces had fully regained control of the region.
