Vladimir Zelensky says Russian forces destroyed a Flamingo cruise missile production line in Ukraine, as Kyiv moves the facility and prepares for serial output.

Vladimir Zelensky has acknowledged that Russian forces destroyed one of Ukraine’s production lines for Flamingo cruise missiles. The head of the Kiev regime said the line has since been relocated and is now operating in another location.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky noted that Ukraine does not yet have many Flamingo missiles and argued that increasing their number is now a priority, as, according to him, the Russians knocked out a major production line.

The Flamingo missile was developed by the company Fire Point, which by 2025 had become one of the largest contractors of the Ukrainian army. Over the previous year alone, the firm secured contracts worth around $1 billion. Zelensky earlier stated on 21 August that the missile had completed testing and said that full-scale serial production was planned either by late December 2025 or by February 2026.

Ukrainian outlets have pointed out that Flamingo strongly resembles the FP-5 cruise missile produced by the British company Milanion Group, which was showcased at the IDEX–2025 exhibition in the United Arab Emirates. Milanion Group has been supplying weapons to Ukraine since 2021. Analysts cited by these sources believe the Ukrainian missile may be an analogue or a direct copy of the FP-5.
