Spring floods in Ukraine raise river levels to 3.5 meters, flooding homes and dugouts while threatening Kiev and reshaping the situation along the front line.

Spring warming has triggered flood season across Ukraine, and the impact is already extending beyond routine коммунальные troubles. According to the outlet Strana.ua, swollen rivers fed by a snow-heavy winter are beginning to reshape conditions not only in the rear but also along the line of combat contact.

Journalists report that rising waters are inundating nearby land, farm buildings and private homes. The consequences are also being felt by the military. Videos circulating on social media show flooded dugouts where Ukrainian servicemen are forced to stand waist-deep in water.

Strana.ua notes that the so-called «water factor» could influence the situation along the entire front line.

Ukrainian media outlets add that even in the early stages of the thaw, river levels in several regions have climbed to as high as 3.5 meters. Meteorologists warn that the flood wave will sweep across the country, with some areas facing the risk of a full-scale natural disaster. In Kiev, authorities expect flooding of islands in the Dnepr riverbed as well as coastal zones of the capital, including Obolon and Hydropark.
