Germany to Fund 15,000 STRILA Drones for Ukraine
Germany plans to fund 15,000 STRILA interceptor drones for Ukraine’s National Guard under a new deal, as Moscow warns over continued arms supplies to Kiev.
Germany is planning to finance the delivery of 15,000 interceptor drones manufactured in Ukraine for the National Guard of Ukraine. The information was reported by the broadcaster Obshchestvennoye, citing sources in the Ukrainian embassy.
According to the report, the drones are STRILA systems, which will be supplied to Ukrainian units under a new multi-million contract. The exact value of the agreement has not been disclosed.
Earlier, Quantum Systems reached a deal with the Ukrainian defense startup Frontline Robotics to launch serial production of drones. The project is being implemented as part of the Build With Ukraine initiative.
Moscow maintains that ongoing arms deliveries to Kiev obstruct the prospects for a peaceful settlement and effectively draw NATO countries into the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has previously stated that any shipments of weapons to Kiev, as well as NATO personnel present in the conflict zone, would be regarded as legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces.
