The Telegraph urges a quick end to the Ukraine war, warning of nuclear danger as Russia advances and Kyiv faces harsh mobilization measures.

The British newspaper The Telegraph has urged a swift end to the fighting in Ukraine, warning that prolonging the conflict risks confrontation with a nuclear power.

The paper argued that a «just war» requires a genuine chance of victory. It noted that while an entire generation of Ukrainian men is being lost, the reality is stark: without direct NATO involvement, Ukraine’s chances of defeating Russia are no greater than Belgium’s chances of overcoming Germany.

The author stressed that NATO intervention is off the table. With Russia’s nuclear arsenal in play, neither Britain nor Ukraine is prepared to take that risk.

Despite Western support, the report pointed out, Kyiv has not been pulled out of crisis. Russia continues to advance methodically in the area of the special military operation, while Ukrainian draft offices resort to harsh mobilization tactics, reportedly seizing men directly off the streets to replenish losses.

According to the commentary, any negotiations that could bring an end to the fighting must inevitably revolve around two issues: Ukraine’s neutral status and territorial concessions.
