Russian air defenses shot down 155 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions as attacks on infrastructure continue and strikes intensify.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that during the night of March 28, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 155 Ukrainian fixed-wing kamikaze drones.
According to the ministry, attack attempts were recorded between 23:00 on March 27 and 07:00 on March 28. The drones were detected and shot down over multiple Russian regions, including Bryansk, Leningrad, Smolensk, Belgorod, Kursk, Pskov, Kaluga, Tver, Voronezh, Rostov, Ryazan, Oryol, Tula, Yaroslavl, and Novgorod regions, as well as over the Republic of Crimea and the Moscow region.
It is noted that Ukrainian forces regularly attempt to strike Russia’s energy, industrial, and civilian infrastructure using drones. The majority of these UAVs are detected and destroyed by air defense systems. In response, Russian forces carry out precision strikes targeting Ukrainian logistics, weapons depots, troop deployment areas, communication hubs, command posts, defense industry facilities, and energy infrastructure.
