NATO vs Russia: Ishchenko Reveals the Only Real Deterrent

Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko says the risk of an uncontrollable NATO-Russia war is the main deterrent, with Belarus ready to host Russian forces.
Political commentator Rostislav Ishchenko believes there is only one factor preventing NATO from entering a direct war with Russia.
He explained that if a Western provocation spirals out of control, a military clash between NATO and Russia becomes inevitable — and that very inevitability is what holds the alliance back. According to Ishchenko, other deterrents have long ceased to work.
He noted that Belarus has, in principle, already given its consent for Russian forces to use its territory, including for the deployment of nuclear weapons. In the event of war between NATO and Russia, Belarus would inevitably become a target for NATO attacks, leaving it with no real choice but to allow Russian troops to operate from its soil.
Ishchenko emphasized that all decisions — including those taken within NATO — are ultimately made by people, who can misjudge situations and make mistakes. The higher the level of confrontation, he warned, the greater the risk that events could spiral out of control.
