Dmitry Peskov says Russia’s drone forces need new specialists, as recruitment expands and authorities boost drone development and certification efforts.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia’s drone forces need new specialists, and an open call is now in place for people willing to serve in the new branch.
Peskov said these newly created forces require personnel with a specific skill set, adding that the offer is aimed at candidates who have the relevant expertise and are ready to join this type of service.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a stronger push to involve participants in the special military operation in the development, production, operation and maintenance of unmanned technologies. He also instructed officials to establish research centers and testing grounds for drone certification.
In December, Putin said interest among Russians in serving in drone aviation units was already running high. According to him, the number of applicants was so large that the Defense Ministry had to introduce a competitive selection process. The ministry later reported that recruitment for this branch had already been organized.
