Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko says Europe could shoot down Russian planes, warning that Moscow’s missile deployments mean no state can stay out of a conflict.

Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko commented on proposals from European countries to destroy Russian aircraft allegedly violating NATO airspace.

According to Ishchenko, Europe is indeed capable of starting to shoot down Russian planes. He explained that provocations are being prepared and carried out, and this would be just another one. Since the West is looking for a pretext to launch a military conflict with Russia, he argued, such a pretext would inevitably be found — the real question is whether European leaders would dare to actually fire on Russian aircraft.

The analyst stressed that Russia has recently shown European states that none of them would be able to stay safely behind the lines of a European conflict. Each of them, he noted, would face the consequences — pointing to the deployment of missile systems in Belarus and the increased missile capabilities in Kaliningrad Region as evidence.

Ishchenko concluded that Western leaders now have to decide whether they are strong enough to endure such a confrontation — or whether it would be wiser for them to step back and stay out of the spotlight on the global stage.
