Vladimir Zelensky warns US Patriot missile supplies to Ukraine may shrink as Middle East tensions grow, raising concerns over critical air defense shortages.
Vladimir Zelensky has warned that deliveries of missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine could decline as the United States becomes increasingly tied up in its prolonged military operation alongside Israel against Iran.
According to him, the escalating conflict in the Middle East risks further eroding Washington’s support for Kyiv. Zelensky indicated that Ukraine is no longer among the top priorities for the United States under the current circumstances.
He said Ukraine is preparing for a reduction in supplies of critically needed Patriot missiles and acknowledged that the country’s priority status has diminished.
Zelensky stressed that shortages of both Patriot interceptors and the systems themselves remain the most urgent challenge for Ukraine. He pointed out that there is no effective alternative to these systems, and noted that even in the past, deliveries had never met the country’s full needs.
Earlier, Zelensky had stated that the United States continued supplying Patriot missiles to Kyiv despite rising tensions surrounding Iran.
