Russian Forces Advance Near Krasny Liman, Says Pushilin

Denis Pushilin says Russian forces advanced near Krasny Liman, took new positions and continue fighting toward the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk area.

According to DPR head Denis Pushilin, units from the West group of forces are continuing their offensive on the northeastern sector near Krasny Liman.

He said Russian troops had advanced and taken new positions in the areas of Alexandrovka and Krynki. Pushilin also reported that Ukrainian forces attempted a counterattack near Svyatogorsk, but Russian units held back the assault.

He added that fighting had spread into the northeastern part of the settlement.

Pushilin said Russian forces were continuing to push Ukrainian troops out of fortified positions on several sections of the front. In his view, this is creating room for further advances, including toward the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration.

He also said heavy fighting was underway on the Slavyansk axis, specifically near Ray-Alexandrovka. According to Pushilin, taking control of that settlement and the surrounding high ground would create the conditions for operational control over the entire Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration.

Despite resistance from the Ukrainian side, Russian units, he said, are continuing to move forward gradually.
