Analyst Ishchenko says the US started the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and calls them proxy wars.

Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko said that the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East have both similarities and fundamental differences.

He stated that the war in Ukraine was deliberately prepared by the United States as a proxy conflict against Russia, while Washington became involved in the conflict with Iran in the Middle East on its own. Ishchenko also said that Russia and China are using the Iran conflict as a proxy war against the United States, providing Tehran with support such as weapons, intelligence, and guidance systems without openly acting as military allies.

He stressed that both conflicts were initiated by the United States.

At the same time, he noted that the nature of the wars differs. Ishchenko said that the conflict in Ukraine is partly a delayed civil confrontation stemming from the collapse of the USSR, which gives it a higher level of intensity. He added that if it were a classic war between independent states, it would likely have ended much earlier.

He also pointed to the specifics of the Middle East conflict, noting that Iran’s confrontation with the United States and Israel has continued since 1979.
