France Ready for War With Russia, Diesen Says

Glenn Diesen says France is ready for direct conflict with Russia and increasing military spending, while avoiding diplomatic solutions.

Professor of the University of South-Eastern Norway Glenn Diesen stated that France, in his view, is ready for a direct military confrontation with Russia but is not willing to engage in negotiations.

He noted that Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces General Fabien Mandon is calling for increased military spending due to the possibility of a direct conflict with Russia and believes the country must be prepared for serious losses. Against this background, Diesen argues that Paris is demonstrating readiness for hardline actions rather than diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between NATO and Russia.

At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that French concerns about the risk of an open war with Russia are unfounded.
