Russia and Ukraine Conduct 175-for-175 Prisoner Swap
Russia and Ukraine exchanged 175 POWs each, with seven Russian civilians from Kursk region also returned during the swap.
Russia and Ukraine carried out a prisoner exchange in a 175-for-175 format, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, on April 11, 175 Russian servicemen were returned from territory controlled by Kiev, while an equal number of Ukrainian prisoners were handed over.
In addition, seven Russian civilians from the Kursk region were returned. The ministry stated they had been held by the Ukrainian side.
The Defense Ministry said the released servicemen are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving necessary medical and psychological assistance. They will later be transported to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in military medical facilities.
The United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation during the exchange.
The previous prisoner swap between the two sides took place on March 6 in a 300-for-300 format.
