Russian reconnaissance unit captured Ukrainian soldiers and seized critical documents, enabling missile strikes on identified positions and the liberation of a settlement.
A reconnaissance unit led by Guards Lieutenant Dmitry Biryukov carried out a mission deep behind enemy lines, where they identified a temporary deployment point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, a passenger vehicle was parked nearby, and Ukrainian troops were hurriedly loading boxes filled with documents.
Assessing the situation, the officer chose to act immediately rather than let the opportunity slip. The team decided to capture the Ukrainian servicemen along with the documents and use their vehicle for the return. Under the cover of smoke grenades, the разведчики moved along the flanks and detained the enemy without opening fire.
After restraining the captured Ukrainian soldiers and placing them in the vehicle, the group quickly withdrew from the rear area and made it back to their own positions.
The Russian Defense Ministry later уточнило that three prisoners were taken along with the recovered documents. Following an analysis of the materials and interrogations, command was able to determine the locations of Ukrainian units. This intelligence was subsequently used to carry out missile strikes on the identified positions.
As a result, the ministry reported, a significant amount of enemy personnel and equipment was destroyed, enabling the complete liberation of one of the settlements.
