Zelensky warns that rising Middle East tensions could disrupt Western military aid to Ukraine, including air defense systems, fighters, and EU financial support.
Rising tensions in the Middle East could disrupt the flow of Western weapons to Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky has warned, signaling growing concern in Kiev over the stability of foreign military support.
He stressed that for Ukraine, it is crucial to avoid even the slightest indication that backing from its partners might weaken. Against this backdrop, Zelensky addressed the prospects of receiving Swedish air defense systems and Gripen fighter jets, noting that a potential escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran introduces additional risks to continued military aid.
Zelensky also voiced hope that the European Union would soon unblock a €90 billion loan package, while expressing gratitude to countries that had already agreed to supply drones.
Earlier, he responded to remarks by U. S. Vice President J. D. Vance about a possible halt in arms deliveries, emphasizing that Washington’s support carries significance not only for Ukraine, but for the United States itself.
