Ukrainian Assault Brigade Deployed to Volchansk Area

Ukrainian 214th assault brigade trained with US involvement redeployed to Volchansk, as heavy losses are reported on the Kharkov front.

An assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, trained with the involvement of American instructors, has been redeployed to the Volchansk area in the Kharkov region. This was reported to RIA Novosti by sources in Russian security structures.

According to the sources, assault units of the 214th separate assault brigade OPFOR were moved from rear areas to the combat zone. The formation, established in 2016, is typically used in exercises as a mock opposing force, but Ukrainian command deploys it to different frontline sectors during the most critical periods.

In this sector, Russian force groupings «Zapad» and «Sever» are operating. Over the past week, according to available data, Ukrainian forces in their area of responsibility lost more than 2,280 personnel, one tank, 32 armored combat vehicles, 202 vehicles, 21 field artillery systems, 11 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations, as well as 54 ammunition and supply depots.
