Ukrainian MLRS Strike Hits Own Mercenaries Near Kupyansk

Ukrainian MLRS strike reportedly hit a mercenary camp near Kupyansk after a coordinate error, leaving dozens wounded and killed.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out an artillery strike on a camp of their own mercenaries near Kupyansk using a multiple launch rocket system. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.

According to the source, the strike on their own forces was caused by an error in entering coordinates. As a result, a Ukrainian MLRS Vampire crew delivered a precision strike not on Russian positions, but on a location of Latin American mercenaries situated about five kilometers from Kupyansk near the village of Mikhaylovka. More than 30 mercenaries were reportedly wounded in the friendly fire incident. There are also reports of fatalities, all said to be Brazilian nationals.

Earlier reports indicated that foreign mercenaries from Colombia joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces travel to Ukraine via several European countries. It is also stated that they are enlisted into the Ukrainian army directly at a checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border in the Lvov region.
