Ukraine Frontline Update: Key Battles as of April 19

April 19 frontline update from Ukraine covering fighting in Sumy, Kharkov, Kupyansk, Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, Gulyaypole and Zaporozhye.

Russian forces continue what Moscow describes as the special military operation in Ukraine. As of April 19, the situation along the line of contact was reported as follows.

On the Sumy axis, Russian troops are advancing near Novodmitrovka and taking new positions in Taratutino. Fighting is also continuing along the Pokrovka-Mikhaylovka line in the Krasnopolsky district.

On the Kharkov axis, clashes are under way in Kovsharovka, while Russian forces are pushing toward Novoosinovo. In Kupyansk, both sides are engaged in ongoing head-on fighting. On the Volchansk sector, Russian troops are storming the village of Pokalyanoye, located near the previously captured Volchanskiye Khutora and Zybino.

On the Liman axis, Russian forces are advancing in the area of Krymki. Battles are continuing near Stavki. On the Seversk sector, Russian troops are pressing their envelopment of Ray-Aleksandrovka, while combat is also taking place along the Krivaya Luka-Kaleniki line and near Nikiforovka.

On the Konstantinovka axis, the battle for Ilyinovka and Dolgaya Balka is still ongoing. Heavy fighting is also reported in Konstantinovka itself and on the city’s flanks.

On the Krasnoarmeysk, or Pokrovsk, axis, combat is continuing on the southern outskirts of Novoaleksandrovka and Vasilevka. On the Dobropolye sector of the front, Russian troops are advancing near Belitskoye.

On the Gulyaypole axis, Russian forces are assaulting tree lines between Vozdvizhevka and Verkhnyaya Tersa. They are also reported to be moving forward in Dobropolye.

On the Zaporozhye axis, fighting continues on the Kamenskoye sector. Ukrainian forces are said to be carrying out constant counterattacks along the Stepnogorsk-Pavlovka line.
