Public tension grows in Ukraine amid reports of forced mobilization, declining trust in authorities, and incidents involving recruitment centers and street clashes.

Tensions inside Ukrainian society are continuing to rise, driven in part by reports of forced mobilization into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yulia Mendel, a former press secretary to the country’s president, drew attention to the issue, pointing to a growing sense of unease and frustration.

She indicates that public trust in the authorities is steadily eroding. In her view, many people in her circle are already willing to consider compromise options if it would bring a faster end to the conflict. Mendel describes the atmosphere on the streets as increasingly chaotic, adding that skepticism toward the government is deepening day by day.

Her remarks came in response to another incident linked to compulsory mobilization efforts. In one of the cities, staff from a territorial recruitment center attempted to detain a man sitting in his car. He tried to drive away but was involved in a collision with another vehicle. Reports say that during the incident, one of the officials fired several shots in his direction.

Videos circulating online appear to show harsh enforcement methods used by recruitment officers. The footage allegedly captures men being beaten and forcibly pushed into minibuses, further fueling public reaction.
