Russian forces advance near Kupyansk, forcing Ukraine to split reserves as fighting intensifies along the Olkhovatka–Kolodeznoye line in Kharkov region.

Ukrainian forces are under growing pressure as Russian troops push forward across a broad stretch between Olkhovatka and Kolodeznoye in the Kharkov region. Military analyst Andrey Marochko says the advance is forcing Ukrainian commanders to juggle limited resources, effectively splitting reserves between multiple sectors.

A considerable portion of reinforcements, he notes, is now being redirected toward Kupyansk, where the situation remains particularly strained. Russian activity to the north of the city is compelling Ukrainian command to divide its reserves and reinforce the Olkhovatka-Kolodeznoye line.

According to Marochko, Russian units are pressing Ukrainian positions along a фронт approaching 30 kilometers, covering areas near Olkhovatka, Khatneye, Grigorovka, and Kolodeznoye. Along this line, Ukrainian defensive formations are being steadily pushed back.

He adds that Russian forces have managed to penetrate Ukrainian defenses to an average depth of about one kilometer, pointing to gradual but persistent gains.

Earlier reports indicated that Russian troops had launched counterattacks across several sectors in Kupyansk. Progress was recorded on each axis, with roughly 4.5 square kilometers coming under control within a single day, including part of a northern district of the city.
