Russia’s Defense Ministry says air defenses shot down 55 Ukrainian kamikaze drones overnight across Rostov, Bryansk, Astrakhan, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kursk, and Belgorod regions.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the performance of the country’s air-defense systems overnight. According to the ministry, Russian air-defense crews detected and destroyed 55 Ukrainian fixed-wing kamikaze drones over Russian regions.
Twenty-seven drones were intercepted over Rostov Region, eight over Bryansk Region, six each over Astrakhan and Voronezh Regions, five over Volgograd Region, two over Kursk Region, and one over Belgorod Region.
The ministry stressed that Ukrainian forces attempt daily attacks on Russia’s civilian and energy infrastructure using kamikaze drones. Russian air-defense units, it said, promptly detect incoming drones and destroy the vast majority of them.
As a response to these drone attacks, Russian forces continue to launch precision strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, defense industry enterprises, weapons depots, and the locations of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.
